I would say NONE of the above coz you mentioned about the presence of hawks around there hawks predominantly are known to consume mice,lizards and small birds,which is exactly the other creatures you mentioned they are known to hold and catch their prey with their claws,as per the food chain seeds is primary producer which is consumed by lizards,mice and small birds for that matter but hawk is the ultimate consumer or secondary consumer after mice,lizards or small birds so how will hawk not follow the principle of survival of the fittest in this case and leave the poor creatures alone,it will go by the food chain and web principle and rule of the nature and would not let the population of mice prosper to a greater extent as in the case you mentioned in your other options...........
