Hi i would like to get some info on Coastal Carpet Pythons as i just bought one a week ago.?

He is a 3yr old male and i think maybe 4 to 5 feet long "not to sure as im not good with judging size". He has been in a shed most of his life and there for never handled. He has not as yet bit me but has tried a few times. Now what is bothering me is that i had handled him a few times before bringing him home and felt great. When i got him home and grabbed him to put him in his new enclosure my mrs startled him and he struck at her. For some unknown reason fear has taken over me and i am to "scared" to grab him out. Any info would be great as i am getn very angry with myself about this. Also would like to know peoples opinions on what they feel like when they bite, Cheers.
