Isn't it true that no matter what your beliefs are, you bring them into most facets of your life?

Then why do we expect candidates not to do that? No matter what your set of beliefs is, if you truly hold those beliefs, they affect every decision you make, or should do so. Why do we expect that not to be true for candidates?
